Yes, the legendary action heroes are indeed invading our game consoles. The Expendables 2 has indeed caused a massive eye opener with likes of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Chuck Norris, Jean-Claude Van Dam added to the already great roster with Sylvester Stallone (Big fan of Sly Stallone here) and Jason Stratham. The video game also packs a punch, though could have delievered a more meaty punch…
The Expendables 2 is a 4 player co-op affair or you could simply play the game on your own. You have four characters that you can choose from Barney Ross (Stallone), Yin Yang (Jet Li), Gunner Jensen (Lundgren) and Hale Caesar (Terry Crews). Each of these characters have their own abilities, such as weapons and also their own weaknesses. It would be better to play with friends, as the AI can somewhat be very questionable on what it’s doing, but the AI works great when you are down bleeding out.
The Expendables 2 videogame is a typical 2D side action mixed with 3D birds eye view action game. You will face many enemies that will annoy you, and will also encounter heavy vehicles to take out. You will have some chapters that will have you holding your thumb down on the RT button on a boat and plane.
The visuals aren’t the greatest, but then again, it’s a downloadable game and its a good-looking game for a downloadable game as well. The voicing can be hit and miss as they haven’t got the voicing rights are the actors, though they do sound like them… Stallone is nearly there but you can tell clearly that it isn’t the man himself.
Throughout the course of the game you will earn exp points to spend on upgrading your weapon fire for all characters, armour, health, stamina etc. If you so want, you could spend some money on unlocking everything, but where is the fun in that!
If you fancy a quick blast with friends or on your own, then I would advise downloading this as soon as possible! The Expendables 2 with a few beers will make for a cracking evening.
