Sony’s new firmware update for the PS3 is not to blame, according to Rockstar, as they hint a possible fault with the game.
Sony spokesperson has told Edge that the PS3 3.61 firmware is categorically not to blame for the LA Noire overheating issues.
They even said that the problem has spread onto the Xbox 360 version.
“As with the release of any System Update, we will invariably see a very small number of users whose console has failed following updating their console, which is an unfortunate coincidence” Sony stated.
“Rockstar have now updated their FAQ on the matter, have admitted that it is a fault with their latest title LA Noire and have offered a work around. It should also be noted that the issue with this title is not PS3 specific and is also affecting other consoles.”
Rockstar customer support is now advising players, that they delete their game data (not saved files) on the PS3 and clear cache on the Xbox 360.
