Bloodforge Review

You play an ex-barbarian called Crom. Crom likes to wear his animal skull with pride and doesn’t want to show you his ugly face. One day, Crom decided he would quit the mile high club, and start living a honest life and have a family. It’s like Conan settling down but always having that urge to throttle someone by his bare hands when he gets bored.

Bloodforge has a 300 visual kind of look to it or Sin City if you want, slightly by the way, not heavily. The screen will be drenched in blood with the visceral slaughtering at your fingertips with Crom. Saying that, it may sound pretty good, but it’s a poor man’s effort of a hack & slash downloadable game. Consumed pictures & videos made me very intrigued, as I do like my hack & slash games, notably, the God of War games are my favourite hack & slash games with Ninja Gaiden coming behind.

Bloodforge doesn’t scream out anything new to the table. The gameplay is fine and dandy and what is expected from this type of game. The gore is minimal and could have been a lot better to rival its counterpart, God of War or the Conan  games.
The story is well? Err, I forgot to be honest. The game becomes a massive task after ten minutes of play, though taking on this massive great giant guarding the entrance of this place you need to go, typical…

You are getting barked at from a woman who so happens to be a crow? Why a crow, and why overall? Now thinking about it I am starting to remember some of the story, trust me, it’s a crap story cannot be anymore honest than that. Killing gods to get revenge after Crom’s Wife got killed and to kill finally the end boss. A love story but mixed with Barbarian lore? Pfft, I just want to lob heads off and saying liners that would make Arnie pleased.

The game is frustrating as the developer has a great game that could actually be good! However, the developer doesn’t exactly know what to do with it, as it’s all over the shop and downright frustrating that they have missed a golden opportunity. When progressing farther into the game the enemies increase to compensate the shit story that this game has.

I rather watch paint dry than playing Bloodforge ever again.

2/10
